Sleeping Soundly

I know you all have been waiting on news of my new bed, and I am happy to report that I have finally finished it! Behold the glory:Isn't it cute? Oh how I love that Ikea. Everything on that bed save the blankets and one pillow case (which you can't see) are from that glorious place. The night stands too. And I may or may not have purchased a dresser on my last trip (which was made on a Saturday around 2 p.m. Not my brightest idea ever, but I had to do it because the frame is too wide for my box spring, undoubtedly thanks to a ploy by the evil Swedes to make me spend more money on the bed slats at their store). The dresser is still boxed and in the back seat of my car; I can't exactly haul a 100 lb box up three flights of stairs in my condition.

I also wanted to point out the curtains over the window.
These were lovingly handmade by my excellent mother some time ago, and this is the first time I've been able to hang them. They're part of a whole bedroom set that includes a dust ruffle, a duvet cover and pillow shams. Said set is not currently in use because Candy Cane decided one day that she was angry, and long story short everything except the curtains needs to be dry cleaned. That's on my ever-growing To Do list. Along with painting that curtain rod white. The brown clashes with the black ribbons.

Also on my To Do list: painting. I've lived in my house for a year now, and I have not made any changes to it. I don't know why, but that strikes me as odd. I have big plans, though. My white kitchen is going to be citrus themed (I'm thinking a lime green on the walls), and my bathroom is going glamorous. I'm not exactly sure what the means yet, but it's going to be awesome. I think I'll leave the bedrooms alone. They were painted shortly before I moved in, and I like the colors good enough for now. I'm thinking I might experiment a bit with stencils in my bedroom. Really there are too many possibilities, and I am horrible at making a commitment. That's probably why I haven't done anything in the 365+ days that I've been there already.
