Anyhow. I've had two ultrasounds so far, one at 17 weeks to find out how far along I am, and the other at 19 weeks because that's when they could get me in for the midway exam. This is the only printout I got at the first one:
You can kinda tell there's a baby in there. His head is on the right, facing down. He was being a stinker at that one and refused to turn over. The ultrasound tech was able to get a good shot of "the stinger" (as he put it) though, so we got to find out that he is a boy practically right away.
The second ultrasound was yesterday, and I got a DVD of the whole thing, and eight slides that I've scanned in for posting on FB. These ones were a bit overexposed, either because the printer at my OBGYN clinic does that or because of the full bladder thing. Either way, he was less of a stinker this time :)

The whole thing turned out to be normal, and the tech said we wouldn't have to come back for another one unless something comes up later on. I can't even begin to tell you how impatient I already am for him to be born! I am not a patient person, as y'all can attest. My only option at this point, though, is to focus on being healthy and making sure my baby is comfy as possible while he continues to take over my midsection.
Oh, and isn't nausea supposed to go away in the second trimester? I didn't puke at ALL in my first tri (though, I was nauseous nearly every morning), but I've hurled three times so far in the second. Isn't that a bit backwards?

Psh....I had nausea until I was halfway through the second trimester! I don't care what they say, the symptoms don't automatically disappear after three months. So excited for you Jess!
