The Last Leg

It's surprisingly un-busy at work today, which is odd for a Monday morning, but I'm really not complaining. I have run out of things to look at on the internet, though, and seeing as I'm broke until Thursday, online shopping is mostly just depressing. So I guess I'll just spew my thoughts in the form of blogging. Right? Right.

Yesterday marked the official beginning of my third trimester, which means that there are only 15 weeks left of pregnancy. That's pretty excellent! This last leg of the journey is going to be the hardest, no doubt, and that's already becoming pretty apparent. While I actually lost weight between my first and second prenatal appointments at the OBGYN, I gained 10 lbs between the second and the third. I am NOT at all happy about that, but really, what can I do? I'm enrolled in a water aerobics class, so that's a good step. C and I have also been taking walks on the weekends now that the weather is FINALLY getting warmer (yay!). I guess we'll just have to keep doing what we're doing and hope that the weight gain doesn't get out of control.

According to the doctor, I should be feeling movement at least once every 24 hours. Well, if that's standard then my baby is hyperactive! He spent a good hour turning somersaults yesterday afternoon while I was working, and I'm even feeling movement while I'm standing and walking. No one else has felt him yet, though. He's got that awesome habit of freezing whenever I or anyone else puts their hand on my belly. His grandma was pretty disappointed yesterday that she couldn't feel him. With the way he's growing, though, I'm sure that he'll be kicking everyone soon enough, including me and my ribs.
