I just had a chocolate covered strawberry from Cummings. It was amazing. For reals. I almost died with the deliciousness of it.
It's been like over a week (or two?) since I posted last. That's a long time, considering. Not much has been going on. Julia and I threw the most awesome Mardi Gras party ever on Friday the 15th. Seriously, it was amazing. We're throwing another party at Julia's house for St. Patty's Day and I can barely wait. It's going to be just as, if not more, awesome! Perhaps I'll post some pictures of the Mardi Gras shin dig later.
So far this year has been a TON of fun. Probably more fun that it should have been. The Mardi Gras party was just the tip of the iceberg really. On Saturday night Vinnie and I went to see Carlos Mencia in Wendover. It was awesome! Carlos is absolutely hilarious. I have not laughed so hard in a really, really long time. I love that Carlos. If you haven't seen any of his stand up, I highly recommend it. His show is okay, but his stand up is hilarious. Check out "Not for the Easily Offended." It is by far the funniest. "No Strings Attached" is good too, but not as funny as Offended.
We saw Carlos at the Capitol Theater last time he was here (1.5 years ago or so). He is the best stand up comedian that I've ever seen because he knows how to make the show lively and he customizes a lot of his stuff to the place where he's performing. When he was at the Capitol Theater he only told like two jokes that I had heard him say before. When we saw Bill Maher in concert a few years back, he only told like two new jokes the entire time. Not cool. Saturday's performance was the same way too. I think he only told one joke that I'd heard before (one of my all time favs, so I was actually really happy he told it).
Vinnie says that Carlos is getting to obsessed with his own fame. I don't care, as long as he keeps being funny. He was rather political on Saturday night. Apparently he went to Iraq to perform for the Troops. I think that's probably what put Vinnie off. I think it's really cool that he went, though. Carlos has been very outspoken about the war and Bush and what not, so I was kind of surprised that he went. But then I realized that it is entirely possible to support the troops while disagreeing with the war that they are fighting.
I don't really feel like getting political currently, so I'll just leave it at that ;-). Carlos was hilarious, and I learned how to play roulette. That was pretty entertaining. Vinnie did pretty well, but I ended up losing about $4. That's not bad, though. I've decided that it is the best idea to play at the same table with your spouse because it ends up doubling your odds. Good old Wendover.
