La Niña

Happy Independence Day, all! Today is the officially designated day use to celebrate when our Forefathers declared us a free nation. History tells us that they actually voted to confirm the Declaration of Independence on July 2. The thing was actually signed on July 4, though, so that's apparently why we celebrate today. UNLESS today falls on a Sunday, in which case all celebratory events must take place on Saturday or on Monday. Personally I think that's bullshit. Why? Because today is July 4. Tomorrow isn't July 4, and yesterday wasn't July 4. Today is July 4, 2010. We aught to be celebrating today because today is the day. And the most messed up part? I'm working today and not tomorrow. That's all sorts of backwards.

I could go on and on, but honestly there's no point. I live in UT, after all, and the reigning religious mindset will have its way regardless of my interference or non-interference. So that's enough of that.

What I really wanted to write about today is this girl:Freaking hell she's cute! I seriously can't get enough of her. And neither can you. And I do nothing but aim to please. So, here are two more overdoses of cute:
I don't know about you, but I just want to squeeze her little cheeks. She's looking a lot more like her mom these days, and I can't figure out if it's because of her big blue eyes and cute little nose so much as it's because they have pretty much the same haircut. Paisley's hair has gotten a LOT lighter since she was born. It's a dark blond now, and it was so dark brown! Crazy how it'll do that, right? Right. She's just a sweet little thing, though, weighing in at just about 20 lbs. And she's mobile now too! Crawling around getting into things, constantly threatening to hurt herself...you know, the usual crawling baby routine. It sure is fun for her parents. And for me. I love being an auntie!
