The {Baby} Invasion is Imminent

Over the course of this weekend my second bedroom went from a semi-organized office/guestroom to a complete and total disaster area to the mostly empty beginnings of a nursery. The ceiling even got painted last night!

It's the same green I used in my living room, but C is going to add in ripples with white spray paint so that it looks like looking up through the water's surface. Neato, eh? I thought that painting the ceiling would make the room feel smaller, but its such a bright green that it doesn't at all, so that's a bonus :)

The spray painting of the walls is going to be finished today so that I can complete all of the detail work this Thursday. With all that we've gotten done over the last few days, it is starting to feel like my house is being taken over. Even the bathroom is not exempt from the imminent baby invasion. Yes, I know my baby won't be bathing in the tub right away, but that didn't stop me from purchasing and installing this awesomeness:

Isn't he cute? He holds bath toys!

I mean, how could I pass that up? Who doesn't want a giant frog in the shower at all times? Not me!

So far most of the invasion is contained in the second bedroom, thankfully. We don't have a dresser for the babe yet, but we did get one of these convenient things for the closet:

And these nifty wall stickers worked perfectly on the closet doors:

Pirate monkeys, of course! The creme de la creme, though, is the Pack n Play that I scored for $50, which we successfully assembled without too much trouble on Saturday:

The mobile with the bears is just too cute! Poor Candy is not all that sure about what's going on in there, but she's not terribly thrilled:

All of these changes has made her extremely needy over the last few days. I can't walk into the house without being fiercely meowed at until I pick her up and give her some love. I still have no idea how she's going to react when we bring the baby home. She will likely go into hiding for a while, not just because of him but also because his grandmas and lots of visitors will be coming around. I'm sure she'll adjust eventually, though.

So that's it for the nursery pics for the time being. After this next weekend I'll have more to show off because we'll finish up all of the painting, including all of the details I'm putting in. The good news is that I won't have to work again after Wednesday until August, so there will be time to get everything in order and (hopefully) posted on the blog!
