The Baby Shower

My darling T and my awesome older sis threw me the most amazing baby shower ever. It was pirate themed, of course, and I've been waiting forever to post the darling invites:Aren't they cute? T found them on Etsy. Speaking of T, here she is facilitating the first activity, which involved everyone guessing how big around my baby belly is with yarn:My mom and my little bro came pretty close, but my friend Beth from pottery was closest and won the pirate booty (a bag of chocolate coins). I put my younger sis, the Shnookie Shnook, in charge of the camera, and this is the first pic she snapped of me:
Oh yes, blue steel! Not a full on belly picture, but it definitely shows how Baby Boy has dropped further down my abdomen. Compared to my May belly picture at least:More blue steel, of course. Anyway, back to the shower:
The Shnookie Shnook, being a dork. I heart this girl mucho :) And I have no idea what mom is laughing about, but it was obviously pretty funny.
My other sis, the gracious co-hostess, her hubby's Aunt, Josh and Amanda (T's sister in law). We had quite the turnout, actually, which I was thrilled about. Unfortunately we didn't get pics of everyone, which sucks, but I snapped this one:which is most of the crowd participating in the second activity, which was decorating onesies, hats and baby shirts for me with fabric markers and iron-on decals. I've never heard of this done at a baby shower, and it was pure genius! We got some uber cute pieces out of it, and I can't wait to take pics of the baby in all of them.

I heard these girls, and this one too:And these kids always crack me up:
My siblings are kinda strange, but so am I so it works out pretty well for us :)

I've never understood the whole "women only" baby shower idea, so I was lucky enough to convince some of my guy friends, my brother and my daddy to come, and some of my girlfriends brought their hubbies along for the ride. The jack-n-jill thing makes so much more sense in my mind! I mean, of course C wanted to be there, and how do I tell him no (hint: I don't)? And look how cute he is I caught this pic right as he was telling Soni something silly, obviously. Of course my nephie poo was there, and he spent the whole party hamming it up as much as possible.Isn't he adorable? Cuter by the day, I'd say!

All in all it was an awesome time, and from what I heard, everyone had a good time. I'm so lucky to have so many awesome and caring friends that were willing to come hang out with me and buy my baby gifts. It's a shame that showers usually only happen for the first baby, because I would have no objections to doing this kind of thing again the next go-round!
