As most of you know, for the last couple of years I've been an avid iPhone user. In fact, up until the previous post most of the pics on this blog (and
this one) were taken on the iPhone. Well, as all good things must be eventually, my iPhone was decommissioned from phone use in exchange for a spiffy new
myTouch Slide. While I do miss some of the things about my iPhone (like...well...um...hmm...music?), it was time to upgrade, and I did NOT want to drop another $400 on a newer iPhone and deal with all of the same things that my original had to deal with, it being a
jailbroken model and everything. So I went on into the cell phone store near my work on my lunch break and got set up with the new one.
So far I really like it. Having a keyboard is awesome, and having a touch-screen and a keypad is even better! The camera is nice too. Those pictures of
Paisley Mae were taken on my new phone, and I used it to take all the before and after pictures of this weekend's project (more on that to come when I get all the after pictures taken). While I was taking pics yesterday and getting frustrated that the camera wouldn't capture colors the same way my eyes do, I found out that it has some cool effects like Sepia and Negative and Solarize and Posterize, which was my fav. Candy was oh so excited to be my test subject:

You can tell by the yawn that she's obviously enthralled by my attempts to get her picture. The effect is pretty sweet.

And of course there is always the great standby effect, grayscale. Kind of boring and overused (like Sepia, if you ask me), but still fun. Candy does well in black and white:

Mostly I am able to capture her attempt to ignore me, particularly when I have the flash on (a flash! On a cell phone camera? It's new to me...), but she's just so damn cute that I can hardly resist shoving the camera in her face whenever I get the chance. I'm kind of crazy like that, I suppose.
