This year, August was quite eventful. Aside from being my birthday month, we also made a somewhat last-minute decision to go to the courthouse and get officially married the weekend afterwards. Of course, the rest of the month naturally revolved around Colt, and this is what I've got to show for it:
Super baby (p.s. have I mentioned how much I love buying kids' clothes at the thrift store? Because I LOVE IT!)
Flowers
Yes, that's Candy's butt. She did this strange thing one day where she didn't run away from him. Instead, she moved slowly enough to let him "pet" her (which is more like grabbing and pulling handfulls of fur), then he cornered her and took his cuddles by force. I thought maybe we'd turned a corner and she was turning into Patient Kitty, but she has since returned to her anti-social ways. He loves to chase her around every chance he gets, though, and since she won't jump over the baby gate (weirdo), that happens pretty regularly. This type of thing gives me hope, though. At least she hasn't bitten him yet, even though there has been a fair amount of hissing and she managed to scratch him once with a back claw. Maybe there is hope for them after all!
Also, my hubby now has a porn-star mustache, and I'm totally okay with it. This is at the one Bees game we made it to this year, and it was on my birthday. Too bad I couldn't tell you who they were playing, but I can tell you that the Bees won :)
So, onto the wedding! These are all cell phone pics, courtesy of my BFF. Promise I'll post more when I get around to it....
Mawage. Mawage is what bwings us togefer today... Yes, we're both wearing Tuxedo T-Shirts, bc that is how I roll. Colt's was blue:
The first photo of us officially married.
As per tradition, we dined at Mimi's Cafe after the blessed event. The service was not up to par, and not everyone enjoyed their food, so that's lame. But Colt sure does love his Gramma (and vice versa)
We hosted a party afterwards to celebrate (with Jello-shots, because how else do you celebrate getting married?) There was a carrot cake, which we proceeded to cut while Colt was trying to bite my toes...
He's got a toe fetish, and it's crazy weird, but I know it's our fault. Just like it's our fault that he thinks it's funny to bite because we do so to tickle him. He doesn't quite realize yet that biting can also hurt. We're working on that.
So, that's pretty much it. Oh yeah, we did finally make it to the pediatrician for Colt's 12 month appointment.
He weighs 23 pounds and is 29.75 inches tall. I heart this little chub mucho!
