Everybody's Working for the Weekend

It's a Sunday in August, so I'm at work. Awesome. Surprisingly (or maybe not, considering the staff we have on hand today), it's busier today than it is on any given day during the week. That means I have less time for my other various endeavors, such as crochet and coloring (I might have bought two different sizes of Crayola markers and a box of colored pencils out of the back to school supplies at Walmart. They were each $1....how could I resist? Don't judge me!). However, obviously it's not busy enough to distract me from blogging, so there you go.

So anyway. My living room is furnished, finally. I'll be posting pictures of that shortly. I keep getting hounded about putting pics of mi casa on facebook as well. Essentially I could just post pictures of furniture from Ikea and that would be sufficient, seeing as all of my living room furniture came from there. In fact, the only pieces in my living room that didn't come from Ikea are the TV and the lamp. I might have an addiction to cheep Swedish furniture. I wonder if there's a support group for that kind of thing. Hello, My name is Jessa, and I have a problem. In any case, I'll get some pics up shortly.

Now that it's furnished I'm wondering if I should paint. It probably would have made more sense to paint first, but that's not how my brain works I guess. I'm still going back and forth about a color scheme. I have an affinity for black and red (could you tell?), but I don't know if it would be good for me to limit myself to such a stunted pallet. Sure, lots of other colors go well with black and red, but the only one that I really like is white, and surely that doesn't count. Perhaps I'm just unimaginative. Plus, I would never paint a wall black (as much fun as it would be to get it back to a normal color), and the whole red accent wall thing is way overdone these days IMO.

The cushions in my seating area were included in the purchase and are green, as is the wall by the front door. Only its kind of a grayish green that is less and less appealing each time I look at it. I've already got something planned for that, though, and the good news is that it involves more than red and black (possibly none of either). I might be having commitment issues as far as that project goes (me, commitment issues? Never), because it involves applying paint that will have to be painted over eventually. I should just do it, I know, because it will at least be a good jumping off point for the rest of the room.

I just now realized how pitifully boring my life is. Work and worrying about how I should decorate my house can hardly be interesting to anyone else. It's hardly interesting to me, and I'm the one living it! I really need to get out more.
